NP, Atin.....no more mention of anything similar to hype from me about FTEL.
But, I do think there is plenty of room in this new tele company industry to support not only FTEL but several others as well.
May we all pick the right one....and be Daddy Warbuck$.

To all: Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Bill

Somewhat related..Atin who do you think the frontrunners are in the internet fax arena? Where do you see that market going? I've been a long time holder of NMSS. It's been my best performing stock period. So my thanks to you directly.

Atin,

I've enjoyed the atmosphere that you've created around here, and you should be commended for initiating this thread and keeping it orderly. So, Congratulations!

I also enjoyed your views on the hardware/software side of things, and I find your posts along with those of others here a refreshing relief among some of the other traffic, to sit back and gain new insights and soak up some good information.

I'd be interested in knowing how you and the others here feel about:

(1) the relevancy of the pending ITU/IMTC VoIP draft, vis a vis already-installed systems;

(2) when the standard will be ratified; and

(3) if the proposed standard has gone far enough to bridge the chasm between traditional circuit-switched voice networking and that of future VoIP services.

I have some views on these issues which I've expressed here in the past at times, and I'd like see some opinions regarding these matters from you and the others.

Regards, Frank

Atin,

I agree with you that the competition will catch up quickly with the voice quality that the FTEL dvg exhibits right now. BUT, what FTEL via FNET is doing is building a network along the same lines, but somewhat different from INTL. These two right now are part of only a handful of PHONE-TO-PHONE networks that exist today. What matters most(at least to me) is the way the network is built, marketed, and expanded across the US and globally. Rapid expansion and solid partners are the keys to this networks and therefore the ftel's dvg success and staying power. I think you will see both in the near future, and the emergence of FNET as one of the leaders. So if this happens, and ftel is the sole supplier of the gateway, then the product will have a longer life cycle that you expect.

Correct me if i am wrong, but all of the standards, board features, and so called technlogical superiority these other company supposedly have mean nothing if their "voice qulity" doesn't stack up to the ftel's dvg. I can just see a corporate it manager saying to his boss "but at least its H.23 compliant." Timing is everything!!! Now lets just see what FTEL can do with it.
