When I have considered various insurances, they are always much too expensive for the likely benefits. I assume the same for my proposed annuity. But it is such a problem that it is surprising if there isn't a better solution than stacking up three times as much investment as is really needed. Taxes are a blight on humanity [because they are 80% wasted by government spivs, bludgers and spendthrift wastrels]. I would not mind taxes which are used to pay for sensible commons utilities.
