Bonnie Dear: It seemsto me - that only by running an on-balance
volume chart - can you really tell if the "big money" is buying or
selling...and in my experience ...the chart must go back in time
for at least one year. Best to you. Don

Bonnie,

The utilities are going up for several reasons. (1) Lower interest rates (2) Defensive sector: not vulnerable to cheap Asian and Latin American imports (3) Lower fuel input costs (4) The market has had years to digest and discount the effects of anticipated deregulation. These ugly ducklings have underperformed for a very long time and are thoroughly washed-out. (5) Market is beginning to realize that utilities have valuable rights-of-way.
