Tim,

SOMEWHAT "OT"

You guys are characters.<g>

This is old news but here it goes.

Look up in your Micronics manual for core clock not bus clock. Bus clock should be running at 66MHZ already if 100mhz or 133mhz. (120 and 150mhz PCs a little different).

There should be 2 jumpers on board to yield 1.5,2.0, 2.5 and 3.0. (On older boards it might be 1.0,1.5,2.0, or 2.5) which are four possible multiplier settings.

This is done by 2 jumpers having:
both shorted, neither shorted, or either 1 or the other shorted.

If it is more than 1 -2 years old the jumper settings could be different.

***note Don't be discouraged because your manual doesn't mention multipliers up to 2.5(166mhz) you just may have an older PC. It may still work by playing with jumper settings and checking frequency when system starts up.

Heat Sink should be at least a 1/2 inch high and fan should be same surface area. CYRX type coolers will be adequate(They were designed b/c CYRX chips run much hotter than Pentiums). MMX chips run even better but your board may not have bios and correct voltages to run them, but you are able to go up to 200MHZ and higer with them.

Good Luck

PS: If you don't have manual go to MUEI web page for your model board.
