If system wizard can do half of what they say, I still think it has signficant value to OEM's and end users. I'm aware of a number of novice computer owners, all have used technical support for things like:
How to I turn the computer on
My monitor does not light up
How to find a program
How to install software
system lock ups
Basic stuff that a porogram could solve rather than spending an hour on the phnone with at least a $20 tech.

Also, I know more advanced users that call (one with Sony's one year free tech support) to resolve their own created problems. How much does this cost a company?

With the advent of the lower priced computer, lower margins and customers demanding better support, the OEM's are going to be looking for ways to reduce their cost of service.

From the customer view, how big do phone bills have to get with various vendors while on hold waiting for a tech before they are willing to pay the extra 10 or 20 bucks for such software bundled with the machine.

It's time will come and system soft is right to hang on to their price levels. The goose might yet lay a golden egg.

Regards,
Dan

SYSF went out of their way to say that both Acer and Dell were
using the SysWiz product on *multiple* product lines.
