unfortunately, nadine....i think you read far too much nuance into bush's behavior at the unveiling of the portraits....as usual, he is a pawn, (just like his dad with clinton) and comes across to the masses (the few who bothered to watch) as just a former prez yukking it up with the obamas....iow, he gives credibility and stature to the very individual who has relentlessly degraded him....

and wasn't this the rap against dubya during his entire presidency? stoic silence when the left was lambasting him acting as though he were above it all? just exactly what did that accomplish for him?
