Thread: What do you-all make of this?

My read is that Opti has just sold its Audio business for $14M, is that what is being refered to as (Net Media), it seems to me that this is all that Creative would be interested in. If true it confirms what I have been hearing about the Audio PCI and Soundblaster compatible market being a blood-bath, with chip set selling for under $4. Rumor has it that VLSI dropped out of the market, SONGBIRD went the way of the dodo.

Anyway, I'm interested in any information relating to this deal.

Steven-
Thanks for your recent posts. I'm a bit surprised, and it tells me that some of the reasons I bought OPTI almost a year ago were not valid or did not pan out, so I'm not unhappy that I got out. I expected more from their audio/multimedia biz. Of course, Jerry et. al. are in a much better position than I to recognize when discretion is the better part of valor!

I had a limit order on OPTI for a few days recently that never executed, and I've not been keeping a close eye on it.

Regards and thanks for your info,

Larry

P.S. I'm not really sure I can trust any of your comments, however, as you seem to be under the influence of some really wierd chemicals. If you get to the D.C. area, let me know and I'll introduce you to some fine Wild Goose microbrew.
