I always like to slowly peel away all of the layers to examine why events happen. Consider the following... A free man owns a business. He requires labor to be performed. He sets the terms of employment in his company and recruits potential employees. Potential employees can choose from an array of options, including: a. accept the terms of employment and work for the man b. decline the terms of employment and work elsewhere c. start a new business and set their own terms of employment d. not work Those are the four primary options under freedom and capitalism. However, leftism introduces a fifth option which takes precedence over all other options. e. join a union and collectively dictate to the owner employment terms, benefits, and working conditions Option e obviously has very deleterious effects on freedom. Why? Because unions have the weight of the Democratic Party and the NLRB behind them. The trick in the real world is for one to acquire so much wealth and power that he can do whatever the hell he wants to do and then use his wealth and power to make any lawsuits disappear. I don't think even Bill Gates has that much power, as he has fought lawsuits in court and lost. No, the ones who have that much power are mostly unknown to us, but we can rest assured, they own the central banks around the world. They employ men to be their fall guys to the death, while they live the kind of lives on excesses that are unimaginable to us. Whatever they want, they get. IMO, this is why unions are allowed to exist. Unions keep the smaller fish (business owners) preoccupied to the extent that they will never pose a threat to the largest predators.
