rel·a·tiv·ism noun Philosophy .

any theory holding that criteria of judgment are relative, varying with individuals and their environments.

Greg or e, that's all there is.

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Geeze, let the atheists run stuff into the ground - they specialize in verbal overkill.

LOL! Thinking is so difficult for you. You scour these mindless Christian sites for irrational crap and you spew it out as though it had some merit beyond childish fancy!

All creatures act to their benefit. Some creatures are able to utilize speed or strength or camouflage or other assets. It just so happens that homo sapiens is increasingly capable of using thought. Moral laws are simply opinions adopted by any group based on Experience and Reason to the objectives of benefiting the group. Generally speaking, groups benefit when individuals do.

The laws and regulations enacted by groups are merely to structure behavioural standards that benefit the group as a whole--I.e. to translate moral opinions into enforcement of behavioural standards.

Clearly, reason is reason, experience is experience, and people are people….so it is not surprising to find a strong commonality of moral law existing between and amongst human groups. These standards, however, remain (as they must)--relative to human experience, reason, and the Nature Of People.

So now we move on to looking at those stupid and infantile comments circulating mindlessly through the super and UNnatural underground!

Moral relativists can’t accuse others of wrongdoing.

Why not? Do you know of a community without a police force of some sort to find and detain people accused of wrong doing? Just because laws and regulations are formulated by human beings--does that mean we cannot accuse one another of breaking those laws? DUH!

Relativists can’t complain about the problem of evil.

Why not? As long as we use the word ‘evil’ to describe heinous violations of the moral standards we have adopted, we can certainly complain about it!

Relativists can’t place blame or accept praise.

Why not? Just because standards of right and wrong are formulated by humans to address the best way to survive and benefit in community does not prevent us from judging when people have infracted on those values? Is there an Idiot Convention or are you lost??

Relativists can’t make charges of unfairness or injustice.

Why not? Just because humans decide (group by group, and culture by culture) what is just and fair--it hardly means we cannot rule when our values have been violated or kept! Dumb, dumb, dumb!

Relativists can’t improve their morality.

Why not? Just because people use Reason, Experience, and their Natures to formulate group standards of behaviour does not prevent them from learning from experience or improving their knowledge and understanding. Why do you think we no longer burn “witches” or murder people for not following any particular supernatural belief system?

Relativists can’t hold meaningful moral discussions.

Certainly not with idiots! But with sensible and sane people it is quite enjoyable having meaningful moral discussions. LOL!!

Relativists can’t promote the obligation of tolerance.

HUH?? There is no “obligation” of tolerance. Intolerance is a human right unless and until it exceeds standards codified by human beings in any particular group. If it is a religious group (unfortunately)--there may be NO tolerance and good lives may be taken by supernatural brutes. It is still happening today according to my morning paper…

“If morals are entirely relative and all views are equal, then no way of thinking is better than another”

Spoken by an irrational idiot! Views are NOT equal in value. If you think all views are equal, you are an IDIOT!

Ummmm…different religions have different views (I include the 35,000 Christian Sects) because they think that different views are different! DUH!
