I've been wondering about the popular vote this November. In 2008 Obama carried 10 states in excess of 60% which included New York and California. McCain only carried 5 states in excess of 60% and the largest state in that group was Oklahoma with 7 electoral votes. It's entirely possible Obama could win the popular vote and lose the election.

Bush's failures seem to me like the result of his attempts to appease the left. If he had stuck to conservative principles he would have had a better result.
