One of the items in your report has been anticipated for a long time, but it has taken a lot longer than I thought it would when it was announced.

<<8:27AM Lam Research and Novellus (NVLS) merger obtains final regulatory approval ( LRCX) 37.30 : Cos announced that they have now secured all of the approvals required to proceed with the planned merger of the two companies. The transaction is expected to close after market trading hours on June 4, 2012, subject to customary closing conditions.>>

This action will affect both the Group and SOXM reporting tables. Now the Group will go to 17 stocks and the SOXM to 19 stocks.

These tables have always changed in number of stocks over the years as mergers and "dropouts" have occurred. It takes a little more effort on my part for awhile to make the table changes required, but this is not the first time this has happened. When I started in 1996 with Group, I randomly selected 40 stocks for the initial list. Over the years, as mergers and "dropouts" for whatever reason occurred, I have not added any stocks to the Group, so the Group has decreased from 40 to 17 stocks over a period of 16 years. It adds a little perspective to how "quickly" the stock landscape in a chosen sector can change.
