Sam, you know me. I'm no Pollyanna (More like Chicken Little) but I have a hard time believing the next bottom can be any worse than the one in 2009. And that's not because I think the world is any better off now than it was then either. It's just the stock prices of some of the stocks we discuss here were so low that they were ridiculous. Take a look at these charts:

Wennerstrom Stocks on long term daily charts versus the VIX. Huge spikes in the VIX often precede market bottoms but at actual long term bottoms we usually see lower highs.
