Vanni: You offered a sincere response to Sankars question and I respect that. I agree that the overall dd industry is in disarray.
But the fact that you didn't draw any distinctions on qntm vs the other dd companies is precisely what Sankar, myself, and others have been trying to stress. We believe there are significant differences between SEG, WDC, and QNTM.

But you answered his question and gave him your opinion and that should be respected. Thanks. Dale

Vanni: Thanks for your response and the analogy of teaching Sanskrit to a pony. I tend to agree with you. I share your opinion on the DD sector.

IMO, QNTM will not pick up until it is construed to be the leader in the DD sector, unambiguously, by showing earnings consistently. They have met estimated earnings so far over the last 6 quarters (?), but WS is still jittery about the uncertainty of some of the tech stocks that are badly beaten by competition.

IMO, some of the stocks will go through the roof and others will fall off the cliff. Now is the time to bet on one of the DD stocks -- the one that is expected to be the leader. After reading a lot, I tend to feel QNTM will be the leader, although SEG is using all its cash flow to burn its competitors. Both SEG and WDC have fallen, although the WS seems to believe that SEG will survive. They are all bruised, but because of QNTM's DLT business, it is still surviving in terms of meeting earnings expectations. The DD sector reminds me of the Airline industry, which was facing a similar problem (on a different plane), and is doing so well now.

I agree with you that the money in DD may be dead for a while, until a discovery is made about the leader. Do you think QNTM will emerge as the leader or SEG still has a chance?

I think, Vanni, you have a lot to contribute. I request every one to not get personal while giving opinions on the stock we are discussing, assuming that loss in investing is inevitable and gains are welcome.

Thanks, Vanni, in advance.

Sankar

Vanni:

<<There are so many better stocks to be in right now it is pointless to even speculate about when the DD stocks might turn around>>

Could you please elaborate more on that? I sure can use some advice regarding some good stocks right now. I am way underwater with some Dec 35 Calls that I bought when the stock was at $31. Please let us know what exactly do you like in this current market. I think that contrarians like you very often bring a dose of reality that is always needed when investing in stocks. I still think that QNTM is a good long term investment, unfortunately the rise will probably come after my options expire.

I got interested in QNTM after reading a write-up by Techmeister, I have not seen his posts on the thread recently. It would be nice if he could drop by and tell us what he currently thinks of the company's prospects. It was a very informative and interesting write-up. We can always use some of his knowkledge about the stock.

Go QNTM!!!!!!!!!!
