yes. some of them are over 3 months standing. heck, there are probably one or two that i have had over a year.

generally anything i own that i have had for more than a few months is a busted trade. i am trying to make a conscious choice of putting together a long term core portfolio though. and in my long term core portfolio, there is a lot of oil. i do not expect to concern myself excessively about changes in asset values for this core. it is intended to provide cash dividend flow, not capital gains, and hopefully at a rate that over time, on average, at least keeps up with inflation. if it maintains real purchasing power, i am satisfied. if i can trade around the core bucket and squeeze out a little bit more, all the better, but not required.

now the stuff outside the core...i really need to do a heck of a lot better with that part than i have over the past two years.
