That's because doing the right thing for this country is hard and can cost you your job. That's why I often say that Bush Senior was the last principled President. He realized the need to raise taxes for the good of the country and he did it. Now, the GOP is more interested in power than in doing what is right for the country. Ditto for the Dems. At some point, all partisanship needs to be put aside and everyone needs to act in good faith and do what is right. And I'll tell you that what is right is to get rid of the Bush tax cuts, at a minimum for those earning more than $250K per year, and to cut spending by an equal amount. That's just for starters.
