must think his feeble superstitious rituals will stop the advance of science.. Like a child making reality disappear by covering his/her eyes. Not just him , he's just your basic country boondocks fun"duh"mentalist who's banjo has only one string & 2nd instrument is the kazoo ! The others are the leftover throw backs to a John Birch Society era who have an innate hatred of independent thinking scientists which in that warped space of their minds will always link in with the dreaded "pinko" threat of communism . Going all the way back to the civil rights movement , equal rights for women & despising any growing liberalism in society which ties in with an obession for laissez-faire capitalism of which the "Christian material ethic" in their minds is seen in full support . ( in their limited provincial minds) Right wing politics tie-in with infallible position of "Gods chosen" fits nicely in with such dated dogmatic obsessions , unfortunately the panic mode we see them in cutting & pasting all day long is due primarily with the glaring truth of today's world which sees science & technology the one thing making the wheels of capitalism still spin . With a world also completely lacking the communist threat, we are left only with the other most dangerous threat of our times , people that are just as obsessed as they are and we can only be thankful to science for mediating & standing against all forms of these camps of extreme religious nationalists. Fundamentalism , its not just a religious stance as we see plainly here but political right wing stance too , but it is the innovators in science & technology that are really moving the world now , this loss of power & relevance they cannot abide .
