No, Bush didn't cause it all either. It was a build up of dominos that all hit at once and has decimated the tax revenue base. We are paying for the criminalization of the financial industry.

So the right answer isn't to blame Bush or Obama alone. Both, as well as several past Presidents got us to where we are today, not to mention the Congresses.

My point is that both parties are to blame. Blaming one party is just partisan bullshit. I spend a lot of time complaining about Obama, but I spent just as much time on Bush when he was President. Both parties are bought and paid for by the financial industry. That's a fact. And neither is willing to do what it takes to balance the budget or even try to put it on a path to sound footing.

And ultimately, the reason is that the American people don't want to feel pain and the politicians know that. So all we get is endless stimulus and sugar highs, which will eventually kill our economy. We can't cut taxes to get to prosperity and we can't increase spending to get there either.

We need to increase taxes and cut spending, but not all at once, but slowly over the next 10 years. And we need to cut out all the monetary games the Fed is playing with interest rates and our currency. Lastly, we need to prosecute the banksters relentlessly and reform the laws and regulations to break up the big banks and end TBTF.

You have a link to the source of that image? Reason I'm asking is that everything after 4+ years ago is projected and nowhere does it say what the chart represents.
