Elmo, re- the Germans not exactly as you think. They are always trying to do what they do to perfection. After achieving their perfection goal then they are open to other ideas.

I grew between Germans and went to German elementary school. Maybe time has made its job and many not pleasant events where forgotten. Lived in several societies, and I can compare pro and cons.

As to the current situation it is highly unfair what the US and other Southern EU countries demand from Germany. If I would be Merkel I would tell them or change your ways and work like us or send them all to hell. Obama and his secretary of treasury have a nerve to preach Germany. My remarks of them not for SI postings.

All of Russia and China import machinery for developing their industry from Germany including robotics, what is the US producing? “Facebook” or Hollywood movies?

In Siberia most processing machinery for mining or wood etc. are from Germany Austria and related countries there is a reason for that.

The US is 4 to 5 times the size of Germany, but does not capture 4 to 5 times Germany real exports.
