Why kind of convenience can you envision? Give an example.

We lived in San Diego for 12 years, sold our home there 2 years ago. We still have our (minor) business in Palo Alto, CA. This year I am getting a tax return from IRS for $ 136, right into my BofA account. Good reasons for keeping my private and business BofA accounts, also for charging my US cell phone and other services.

I used to live in Denmark, for 21 years actually. Some of my family still lives there, we have some monnies moving between us from time to time. Good reasons for keeping my accounts there.

I am a Swedish subject, have family there and also co own 15 acres of land and a home in the forest in Sweden. Pay some property taxes there, good reason for keeping my accounts there.

We own a home in Italy, extension constructions in process all the time, those Italians never finish. Around our home there we need to pay and receive money all the time. Good reason for having my accounts there.

I fully legally and declared have a bank account in Geneva and for practical reasons also a Swiss Post account as well, anybody can apply for and get that. Of course my accounts are in Swiss Francs, a currency out of reach of Obama's fiat currency ambitions, which may some day extend to - at least the domestic part of - the USD outstandings. Good reason for me to having my accounts right there.

I am domiciled in Germany and pay the bulk of my taxes there. A good reason to have several bank accounts here. Not at one single bank, however, that would be too risky IMHO.

Oh, wait: I forgot to tell you, that my Wife, a Japanese subject, also holds some of her money inherited in Japan, A good reason for us to keep a bank account there. Sorry, but the Japanese just like the Swiss at this time pay no interest rates on cash holdings, nothing to report to IRS in any country...

Man, are you naive...
