Hmmm... Should Venus ever pass between Earth and our moon, the gravitational effects on both planets and the moon would be catastrophic for any and all forms of life as we know it. Even the cockroaches of longevity fame would become extinct.

However, we can sleep tonight assured that Venus did not intrude upon the Earth's orbit, instead passing harmlessly between the face of the sun and the sunlit face of Earth, as viewed from the perspective of Earth. Venus never actually left its own orbit...
