Looks like stock...

intent to acquire in a stock transaction, privately held Omnidata International Inc., which designs, manufactures and sells

Don. My anger, for want of a better word, was in the timing of the announcement more than anything else.

If I was running CYI I would have ensured the stock price was promoted up and stabilised in a decent range before I started offering it to buy assets.

If Omnidata is profitable then even though it will help the bottom line we shareholders are going to get diluted to buggery to pay for it. If its not profitable then we still get diluted but have another division that needs fixing. The company has to be focussed on technology, sales and controling costs rather than "deals" if it is going to hit home runs. Furthermore if you are buying revenues but not absorbing operating costs into present operations by moving the division to say Florida then the impact on the EPS will be insignificant.

The announcement mentioned $5M in revenues but your info says $10M ...are we buying a wounded animal with this deal and what debts of Omnidata will we be taking on if the transaction is purely stock.

Darleen, if you're reading this, didn't you have an interest in a company selling mobile computing to the transport industry ...I think it was Highwaymaster or something. If so do you have the low down on this industry.

Regards,

Rob
