This is what Dems do to each other: *36% of union members voted for Walker* And then they wonder why Dems always lose. Its that Dem circular firing squad that was aimed at Obama last year. They will work against their own self interests.

As soon as the neo cons starting crushing the unions, wages started falling. I'm not sure the unions are ever going to make a come back, and without them working people have no lobby in Washington. An idea: Old folks have AARP, perhaps working folks should have an AAWP (American Association of Working People). It might replace the diminished power of unions, and then some. Small dues, but a huge base and voting block. Activist, but politically agnostic. Just working for issues that support wages, benefits, working conditions. Unions are so last century, we need a modern equivalent. I think it would scare the crap out of the powerful, and could be a good educational tool to counteract right wing media.
