meathead. don't jump to conclusions about the post..
you already have...
but, p166's and p200's will go three yrs in office and 3 or more on factory floor...
of course since the only apps you think exist are engr'ing and word, and excel you wouldn't know anyway.

In a real mfg'ing compnay...there are plenty of apps for real people
they aren't dummies while the engr's has the only killer apps.

in fact in most real mfg'ing companies systems make the rest of the compnay allot more prodcutive than engr'ing.

I guess that's why citrix is only stk price of 70+<ggg>
Of course I know they are limited now, but, my job is prodcutivity...
they want be limited forever.
I see 386's put together on factory floor and allowing
scanner and voice data collection w/i 5 yrs.
So, I'm sure in 5 yrs a p166 will do it<gggggg>

there are other engrs on this planet working on other things .....you know that don't you????????

meathead, this post was the first post i ever mentioned thin client...
it doesn't take thin client to have instant response times on 99% of all user processes for a mfg'ing plant.
Only engr's and power users require more right now.
Thin client is also , not good for small to medium businesses.
The information footprint of that type of business is a bunch of knowledge workers that go between 5 to 10 apps that are win95 apps and relational apps in win 95.... thin client doesn't work for these people. Right now it's for the transactional worker.
But, there will be data collection evolutions of this later.

that's what I meant by don't assume the wrong thing by me posting thin client, which is the first post I've done on subject.
