India is a democracy like the US is? In fact their democracy is superior to that in the US since even the illiterate of the illiterate are allowed to vote. All they need is the desire or shall we say fire in their belly to be free and the will to exercise their democratic rights. The skills of the Indian workers are transforming from that of running running traditional (horsepower) industries to that of brainpower industry. When that happens, the idea of unions became irrelevant, Steve Jobs realized that when he opened a Apple office in Bangalore (Indian Silicon valley). He closed it within a month. Those Indian software didn't put up with his shit. And I think Obama should not have put up with his shit either. I laugh when Donald trump blows hot and cold over the attitude of the Chinese leaders. Yes indeed, we would need unions if we develop out workers' skillsets to be on the lines of what Rick Santorum advocated.
