And here today, after 3.5 years, Obama is fighting to keep his popularity above Bush's. I suspect few presidents have seen their approval ratings improve so much in 3.5 years as GWB has. And he certainly has Obama to thank for a bit of it -- after all, Obama let's everyone clearly understand what it is to have a really, really bad president. Bush doesn't look quite so bad these days.
