It belongs to an age of abysmal ignorance when people thought human sacrifice could solve problems. You figure they knew what they were talking about when they incoherently jotted down their war histories and their pompous tribal tales??? WHOA! Greg or ee simply would rather be superstitious than rational because reason leaves things in his own hands while his superstitious nonsense allows him to believe in fairies, unicorns, flying sky gods, and other such nonsense. It also gives him self esteem based on a delusion--and that appeals to a lot of inept people.
