The last time global warming, acid rain, ocean acidification and ocean anoxia got out of hand (250 million years ago (when Adam was naming all the animals)--90% of all life on earth died out. It took 10 MILLION years for life to recover. Now that we are capable of monitoring these factors and of influencing them to some degree (and of using foresight to structure goals and objectives and to suggest action plans)--we can perhaps be an example of a mindful life form--in contrast to those mindless life forms of 250 million years ago. sciencedaily.com
