Are you aware that 1/3 of brazilians are receiving “bolsa familia” and are not counted in the IBGE unemployment rates? Are you aware that the number of favelas in brazil has actualy trippled in the last 10 years Are you aware that about 10 of the brazilian ministers where trown out for corruption charges Are you aware that the avarage salary in brasil is about 200 dollars/month and everything costs alot more them most developed countries? Are you aware that with the Real devaluation(the real is still artificialy overvalued) brazil is no longes 6th economy it went down to 8th , brasil was 6th economy artificialy for just about 3 months get your facts straight , brazil is in deep shit Hank Chinaski says: June 8, 2012 at 7:14 pm “Banana Republic indeed but certainly freer than the USofA or any of its cohorts. I am nor sure where you live or where you’re based but I can assure you of this: unless you are either in South America or in Asia you are in deep shit my friend” FREER? That is a complete joke to say that while at this very moment a law about press restriction is being considered in Brazil. FREER? Go walk with a nice watch in Brazil or tell me if you feel “free”. If Brazil is so “free” how come people are buying bullet proof cars like crazy? Shouldn’t they be buying convertibles??? If Brazil’s economy was doing so well and the country was so “free”, considering the weather, picanha, samba and agua the coco Brazilians would be buying convertibles like crazy and not defaulting on 1.0 cars, right? If the country is so “free”, why any Brazilian with money is buying property in Miami? shouldn’t rich people in America and Europe be buying property in Brazil instead? You are so mistaken and so deep in Plato’s Cave it’s not even pathetic, it’s just plain sad. But hey, keep on thinking you are freer. Every 4 years when time comes to press the colored buttons in the voting machine you feel “so” free, and then complains about “how the politicians are all thieves” months later, time and again, time and again, time and again. Is that real “freedom”? The “freedom” to be raped and mugged by left, right, centre? My best advice: go to one of the sad, Banana Republic airports in Brazil, check in to a flight to anywhere mildly civilized, pay R$19,90 for a slice of pizza at the airport (true story) while you wait for your flight, then land somewhere civilized, see for yourself if Brazil is really “free” or if you actually have been living in a cave all the time.
