Thanks. actually when i wife lost her job she did collect unemployment for a short time until she found the current job. i have thought about it and might. but there is a part of me that is just opposed to taking hand outs from the government (of course i am rationalizing a bit, since i do hope to benefit from SS and medicare in a few years when i become eligible.) when i am in a conversation, do i wish to say 'well after i lost my job i never took a cent in unemployment', or do i wish to say 'of course the government needs to take care of the downtrodden, even if they really don't need it, and we need a surtax on all those bankers and other rich folks to pay for it'?
