Great article, rsei. The presented rationale for an extended period of low interest rates seems very plausible to me too. The GNMA fund prescription and the Intermediate Term Muni Bond Fund for those in high tax brackets seem to be a good alternatives. If the Cap Gains and Dividend Tax rates get extended, perhaps I'd add a good quality dividend income fund to the mix. This sure is a nasty environment for retirees such as myself. P
