Not what they said.

They're going to keep those things that make sense [for them, meaning those provisions which are profitable and which they would have done without coercion if only anyone has asked].

While UHC is one of the worst payers in the business (because they control so many policies), they have been progressive in the past about eliminating bullshit. For example, several years ago, they made the decision to eliminate many precerts because they found that the added bureaucracy didn't contribute to cost reduction.

I don't like dealing with them, but they are a well-managed company compared with any government-run organization or even most state BCBS plans.
