I don't believe in blanket austerity. Never have. I believe in a credible 10 year plan to take the deficit down by 10% each year, which translates into a 1% GDP hit each year. I believe those deficit cuts should come from both spending cuts and tax increases on the rich and corporations. That is a balanced approach for the US problems. And I do not believe in trickle down economics and I absolutely hate wars of choice like Iraq. I also don't believe in nation building. If we have to destroy another country, because they attacked us, then that is their punishment. We should focus on nation building right here at home.

Anyway, my criticism of the Dems is often translated as a love of the GOP. However, nothing could be further from the truth. I voted for Kerry and then for Obama in the last two elections. If I still thought the GOP had good ideas, then I wouldn't have voted for the Dems. However, I'm finding that the Dems are pretty much just as clueless. What we need is a viable third party of common sense Americans who aren't bought into all these impractical ideologies.
