You make a very good point. Personally I absolutely HATE to make fund investments from July 1 through their December distribution. If I'm going to hold a fund in any given year, I get whatever I can in the first half and then just wait.

Of course, like most people I also have tax-deferred accounts where none of these considerations matter. I'll buy a fund any time for those accounts.
