Do believe before getting deliberately sidetracked about who's the most righteous givers , we were discussing if there were a caring , all loving, beneficent, all caring God watching over things , then why would he allow all this pain & suffering exist ? A child dying every 5secs of starvation in a world that is overflowing with food ? (your statement )

It was about here all the expected righteous indignation & associated liberal bashing commenced , which doesn't change the core challenge for anyone to explain this lack of concern for human suffering on the part of an Intelligent Designer who on one hand the claim of ordering each , every & all events known in the physical & spiritual realm yet not one tiniest bit of evidence to support this, nor preventing any or all of this suffering .

“We already know that atheists are all about the virtue of selfishness because she who shall not be named has told us so.|”

LOL! Huge logical error! Atheists are not bound to any particular philosophy. You need to read a book or two! Also, Rand does not equate selfishness to being uncharitable or ungiving. Quite the opposite! Selfishness means giving because you consciously value someone or something not because you admit to being mindless. Your stupidity is making you positively glow!

"The largest donation ever given by a single individual in the field of education was several million dollars given by an atheist."

<<How does that show that Doctors without Borders is a charity either organized or funded ostensibly by atheists?>>

"Quietly, with no acknowledgement from the supposedly "left-wing media," atheists have raised over $200,000 for Doctors Without Borders"

If the money was given by an atheist, the donation was funded by an atheist! DUH! Weasel all you want! Your superstitious partner claims that "the only interest atheists have in those starving children is to exploit them to attack faith." So all the compassionate donations and all the wonderful donors are to be judged as evil by this barnyard rat!? LOL!

Puts both of you in the bottom drawer of humanity--and truly not fit company for ordinary and decent people. Both of you think that shooting off insults on the internet entitles you to charitable deduction on your taxes! You refuse to give or help anyone except what goes to your self aggrandisement and to the pleasures of your Priests and the increasing wealth of the Churches! But giving is a bit more involved than having a mouth and a 1 cylinder engine to run it!

"Quietly, with no acknowledgement from the supposedly "left-wing media," atheists have raised over $200,000 for Doctors Without Borders. ( LINK) Working through the popular social site Reddit.com, a group of internet atheists have raised the considerable sum over and above operating costs. In other words, administrative costs have already been paid, and the entire sum will be donated to people in need.

This year's total represents a 400% increase over last year, when atheists donated $50,000. In a letter of thanks, DWB offered the following summary of their good deeds:

In 2011, thanks to your help, Doctors Without Borders conducted 7,334,066 outpatient consultations, performed 58,326 surgeries, delivered 151,197 babies, vaccinated 1,339,873 children against meningitis, and the list goes on…

Doctors Without Borders exists for one purpose - to provide first-rate medical care to people who need it, with no regard for race, religion or political affiliation. We have no agenda, and the fact that we receive 98% of our funds from millions of individual donors around the world is very often the only thing that allows us access to people trapped in conflict areas where other organizations are unable to work.
