Who is going to raise all these benefits? They are currently working for private sectors corps?

You've heard of obscure laws like minimum wage? There is no reason you couldn't legislate minimum benefits. For 20 years US workers have produced increased productivity without equivalent increases in compensation. As a result they are getting poorer, while stockholders are getting richer. Fair? You decide.

The thing that really bothers me is your knee jerk reaction that we have to bring down the people that are doing just OK to the level of those that are doing much worse. It's anti-American. I was raised in a country where we tried to bring everybody up, where every persons prosperity fed on on another persons prosperity.

Now everybody is at everybodies throat; "your doing better than me so I'm going to bring you down to my level". It's a huge step back. And it's even bad for those rich folk in the long run.

Denmark has few rich and few poor, but a vibrant middle class. Universal health care, free education and the Danes are said to be the happiest people on earth. Friends who have gone there say it is paradise.

They also obey stop lights.

Maybe we should use them as a model?
