American agriculture generates about 40 percent of the methane and nitrous oxide emitted each year in the nation, according to government estimates. "Cattle are going to emit methane. The only thing I know to do is put pilot lights on their butts or hand out Di-Gel tablets on the plains," said Chandler Keys, vice president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.<<
