Olive oil has more monounsaturates than polyunsaturates,
the latter is better for reducing cholesterol.
Tub margarine containing liquid safflower oil has,
as you said in an earlier post, more polyunsaturates
than monounsaturates, the latter has no, neutral or
minimal effect on cholesterol. Poly is preferred.
We need only 1 tablespoon of a poly oil per day.
1 tablespoon: Tub margarine containing Liquid
Safflower oil vs Olive oil
Oil Cal Cholesterol Saturated Mono Poly
Tub marg 100 0 14% 23% 60%
Olive Oil 120 0 14% 73% 8%
