Tiger mom versus a Hippie mom-lol. Last night I was thinking about the difference between a Tiger mom and a Hippie mom and what different styles they have. The Tiger mom is after developing her children according to goals she and society feel are important. And she can be ruthless. She is more reactive to status and achievement and social norms and mores. The child also ends up more of a conformist with less creativity; and often traumatized. I have seen it a lot in my life in certain cultures. The Hippie mom is more after developing a happy and self actualized child. Status and achievement are much less important than developing a happy wise and compassionate child with more creativity and less conformity. It has been my observation both kids end up with the same level of success, because both are developing the childs mind, but the Hippie mom produces happier and more well adjusted children with little trauma to the child. If a parent helps develop the childs mind, that is all that is necessary, as the child can take care of themselves and make wise decisions; and developing the soul is as important as developing the mind-lol
