You're right about the traditional colour being RED for a Bullish Candlestick, Paul. I think it came from raising the red lantern or something like that.

In the West, most of us associate RED with "red ink" on a ledger sheet. My candlestick generator is...

...which all print as BLACK candles on a B/W printer, just the opposite of the traditional Japanese way of doing things. Most of us here have been talking about RED Candlesticks being "bearish", with White Bodies being "bullish". BTW, many of us are using the first WWWeb site listed above for intra-day candlestick studies.
