I can't imagine why he would hang out at barbershops. He has his own barber flown to the White House every two weeks:

The President has been using the same Chicago based barber, who goes by the name Zariff, for the past 17 years. According to German Public Radio, the President flies Zariff from Chicago to DC for a trim every two weeks.

What is behind this strategy of having Barry exhibiting all the top black stereotypical behaviors - eating ribs, spending time in barbershops, round ball mania?

Is he trolling for racial comments about him?

Worse than that. It means Obama feels the need to shore up the black vote. His polls must be telling him it's slipping. He can't afford to have any of that vote go to Romney.
