basically what i meant was the banks in china are nothing like BoA and JPM or any of the hedge fund bombs, and more like ... credit union / and traditional savings n loan and commercial bank, had one must place them at one or the other extreme. For the house mortgage biz, the china banks are strictly 50-70% mortgage depending on age of mortgaged property, and the loans are then simply held as opposed to aggregated, packaged, sliced and diced, and sold to every corner of society to do poisonous work.

banks in china do not sell convoluted financial contraptions to counter-parties that would blow up on themselves and/or society at large with outsized and magnified effects

however the banks do deal in simple derivatives (options and futures) w/ folks, for example i do some metal trades with their subsidiaries in hk, and in such they are amply covered
