<<But I'd like to see the laboratory data first. Certainly in my own (limited) experience pot certainly didn't help deep thinking lol. But who knows. Maybe different people respond differently.

There is new research showing certain hallucinogens lift natural filters so one can see reality better. The thing about pot is that it does not seem to be very dangerous, is lots of fun (and so can supplant more dangerous drug kids might take for a high) and allows one to think differently somehow. When one drinks it just seems to shut down the higher brain centers. I never cared for it much myself. Pot doesn't seem to do that.

If I post drunk, it is a mess. If I post stoned no one can even tell. Pot is also a sedative of sorts and many people use it for anxiety and it can be a great social lubricant, or not-lol.

It does seem to make people laugh if they are used to it. Laughing is a lot of fun.

I told both my kids when they took off for college to drink a little, smoke pot a little and avoid everything else. That got them through college safe and sound.

If all a parent needs to worry about is their kid getting stoned, at least their kid will survive. It is the other stuff that kills.
