Good morning Rosemary: Am having a great time looking at quote.com prices( use days and add volume) with regard to high volume at the low prices being a good indicator. Might call it buying on the dips and it has been very prevalent in the techs. It appears that you could predict that KO would be going up, etc Some money may have left the tech sector last month, but now it appears to be coming back, as that is where the good returns will be. There seems to be no fear of investing there, but they certainly have taken their profits at high levels and are now trying to buy back in the present low prices. In the case of Dell that was to sell at 90 to 100, now buying at near 80. IMO the future low of Dell is about 80, and it will only get that low if some a--h--- MM or analyst produces another false rumor or some jerk maintains that computer sales are tanking again or prices are dropping furthur. Hanks big plan is history. Dell has gone back to being a day-traders dream. And there seems to be much manipulation of the techs, which the MM and analysts can do much more easily than they can with say autos, or banks. But Dell future is up and away. If they get this Asian crisis even partially resolved then the stocks like asmif, asmlf, phg, baanf klic are really going to take off. These are just my opinions, I have no major interests in the stocks except for Dell. In regard to the crash, the real porfolio damage was done in only two major days of trading. If a person had been smart (and prepared) to sell the day before then all the rest has just been noise. For myself and many others, I am not going to sit through the next bull run on pins and needles until some strange voice tells me one night "Hey fella, tomorrow is the Big Kahuna, dump everything and pay a 31 percent tax bite, then buy it all back next week at 70 c on the dollar". The two problems with that are that 1. I have lost all my favorite stocks and am down 1 percent even if I buy them back at 70 cents/dollar.(and they will be 80c,not 70 c.) 2. I will need monstrous courage while the world is in turmoil to say now buy them all back, today is the bottom(or is it??????) Sig
