I like Scandinavian stocks as the "best house in a bad neighborhood" - ie Europe. Not diving heavily into any of these names, but all of the stocks listed below are well worth a look here. My faves: Stora Enso Oyj (SEOAY) Norsk Hydro ASA (NHYDY) Electrolux AB (ELUXY) ABB Ltd (ABB) (ABB isn't headquartered in Scandinavia anymore since the merger of ASEA with BBC, but I count it as Scandinavian since it still has a large presence in Sweden, and the company is one of the major core holdings of the famed Wallenberg family).
