I'm surprised that he hasn't extended voting privileges to these "illegals" as well.

It looks more like front-door amnesty to me. Come on in with your kids they will have all the rights of citizenship.

It also looks like dictatorship to me. Congress be damned in Obama's world.

Face it. Obama has us by the "short hairs" on this Dream act move. It's like being in favor of baby seals being killed. We have been able to stop it at the Congressional level, but when Obama singles it out by Presidential order and put it in force, we look like Simon Legree coming out against it.

This is Obama front-running the Supreme Court's ruling on Arizona's illegal alien law SB1070, likely to come on Monday. The White House has likely been told that the Supreme Court will find the law constitutional -- Arizona will have the right to make it a crime to be an "undocumented" immigrant. States may not have the right to enforce federal immigration law, but they can certainly make it a crime to be an illegal alien within their borders without proper documentation.

This move by our President essentially gives a lot of illegals the permission and therefore the documents (work permits/visas) necessary to not only stay legally, but also to circumvent anti-illegal statutes like the one passed in Arizona (and the more stringent version passed in Alabama). Given the timing of things -- the Supremes are expect to release their rulings over the next several weeks and that Obama has decided, essentially out of the blue, to force this plan through an executive order only suggests that the Supreme Court is going to rule in Arizona's favor and soon.

First, off, it isn't amnesty. It's a deferment.

Amnesty was what Ronald Reagan did. Totally different.

But just so I got this straight, we got the party of Jesus telling us to turn our backs on the working people in this country, so they can spend our tax dollars killing muslim kids, but they forgot about Reagan?

Next, consider that they won't get a whole lot of takers for this ludicrous waste of political rhetoric because at the end of the day, whoever signs up for this nonsense is on a list, and easy to find. Can you say STUPID?

Third, the more I read this thread, the more surprised I get. Most of these kids have no means to return to the countries they came from, and their parents came here legally, pay taxes, and start businesses. Why? Because there is no JOB for their kids. The law as written is just stupid, and the argument that "well people agreed to it when they came here" is just as stupid as paying $1 for a head of lettuce, or buying products made in China for 1/10th of an american price and then whining about the economy and the job market, and extending unemployment benefits...

This isn't a free lunch by any means, and the fact that people are worried about having to compete for jobs and college entry from kids who went to the same schools they did growing up, is just as dumb. We can create jobs, and goods and compete at will, if we would just tackle the wastrels handling economic policy creating this god awful mess.

And Arizona's nazi immigration policy is a good idea?. "where are your papers!@%#??"...

The exploitation works two ways. OK end of rant. Sorry,,, i'm sure i'll wrinkle a few eyebrows.
