man with a van cost 20 bucks an hour.

Not in my neck of the woods.

sometimes it's best to have others do this type of work for you.

I'm getting a couple of laborers tomorrow to carry furniture. I did a full 14' truckload of boxes, bicycles and miscellaneous items myself today.

The other item to consider is when others do the work, there is the risk of pilferage and breakage. Misplacement is another risk which invariably happens.

The packing services do a great job of losing things for you as they throw unrelated items into the same box and do a really lousy job with indexing. You have to fully unpack every single box to find things.

moving by yourself is perhaps fun when your 20

I'm glad we didn't hang out together at 20. I enjoyed different things.

I've got two guys helping today. It takes almost as much work to supervise them as it does to do the job myself. They are not as careful as me and they in general do not know what to do. Plus they generate a lot of extra work by misplacing stuff.

Unloading is where they will come in handy. Carrying stuff up 2 stories is not for me. I'm too old for that shit.
