In less than 24 hours, viewers appeared to have little memory of the latter show. Contest portfolios really rocked last week and at Friday’s close the Contest median was up 26.04% YTD (vs. up 18.52% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 23.39% YTD (vs. up 19.78% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 11.03% YTD (vs. up 10.27% YTD a week ago). DONS’ portfolio, up 55.84% YTD, remained our Contest leader, while BIOJIM’s portfolio, up 52.06% YTD, and CHRIS08’s portfolio, up 50.99% YTD, held on to their second and third place spots. At Friday's close, just 3 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the red and 20 of the 38 portfolios were beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. (Foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in the weekly and YTD Top 5 & Bottom 5 tables, when posted.) Portfolio adjustments: None. * Full disclosure on plug: No I don’t own Disney stock. But my wife’s son, Alex Hirsch, created and is executive producer of “Gravity Falls.” The first episode, “Tourist Trapped,” is now available as a free download on iTunes and may also be available via Cable TV. Have a terrific first weekend of summer biotechies!
