<<OK, let's see, how much stock can be shorted? 100% of float? >>

Those short numbers are just incredible. If management is accurate about the future prospects, this stock will flat-out explode in 1Q98.

The irony here is that as the shorts have sold, they have forced the stock into smarter and stronger hands, and those hands are less likely to sell when the shorts close out their positions. One piece of good news (X-Ray news would be terrific) and this issue could almost instantly go into an out-of-overhead-supply condition, leaping 4-6 points a day as the MM's raise bids to generate inventory (from us, who are not likely to sell) to fill the incoming market buys (all 3.6MM of them).

I've been having trouble sleeping with my (big for me)long position on this issue. If I was short those shares, however, I wouldn't get any sleep at all.

Regards,

John

Is Short Interest limited to the number of shares of Float? No!

If insider shares are pledged for a loan they can be lent out for shorting.

Let's say the CEO intends to never sell a share. But let's say he holds his shares at Merril Lynch whose High Net Worth accounts can easily obtain a new Home Loan using shares as a part of the collateral. Just because you don't want to sell your shares doesn't mean you don't want that new vacation home.
