Actually, Ed, saying that the south is anti-intellectual and the north is industrial is hardly comparable. Save that both are over generalizations. The US is now much more of a service economy than an industrial one, depending on just what you wish to mean by that term.

If you need that stereotype of the south, hang onto it. Who knows how long it will be viable.
