Hallo Wolfgang!

Thanks for the answer! I tested late nite a little bit with my original version (used the 111fast.lst as input) and added things like
rising stoch (55,21) and QRS>75 and avgvol>1000 to it and found that only about 5 stocks ended up as a result if i scan for a 4 day period.The stocks almost fulfilled what i was looking for and i will observe them to test what will happen to them.
Of course you discovered a logical problem in my setup if i understand your answer right. My reference was to the mov of today or yesterday. But over the last 7 days this moving average was moving and therefore i need to compare it to the MA's of the respective days in the past.
My scan gives more a rule of thumb and is incorrect in it's logic.

Since i want that the price hugs the 50 ma in a plusminus 2-3%range
i would take your lower example ...

cl(-1) >=movAvg(-1,50,cl)*.98
cl(-2) >=movAvg(-2,50,cl)*.98
.
.
cl(-7) >=movAvg(-7,50,cl)*.98

...and write it out for every day. And since i also want a max above the moving average i also need...

C(-1) <= movAvg(-1,50,cl)*1.02
etc.

correct??

Thanks for your help! Vielen Dank und Tschuess!

Stefan
